Where these prices come from

For each size of home we merged the two guides' private figures into one rounded low-to-high band. Your answers select one band, then extras are added on top; steam is priced per bedroom plus one living room, capped at five rooms. The visit plan uses the usual spacing: a second spray visit about 14 days after the first, a third about 14 days later if needed, and a check about three weeks after heat.

How much is bed bug treatment in Birmingham?

As a guide, a spray course is £280 to £550 for a one-bedroom flat and £360 to £750 for a three-bedroom house. Heat is £700 to £1,100 and £1,000 to £1,700 for the same homes. These are national figures: no published cost guide gives a Birmingham rate.

Is heat treatment worth the extra cost?

It can be when a spray course has already failed, when bugs are in sofas or divans, or when you need it over in one day. For one room caught early, a spray course usually does the job for less.

What pushes a quote up?

Extra rooms with signs, a big or crowded home, upholstered furniture, added steam, choosing heat, and an established problem that takes more visits all raise the figure. Top-floor flats with no lift take longer to set up for heat.

Does the council treat bed bugs more cheaply?

Some councils do, but we could not confirm a current Birmingham City Council bed bug service or price. Check with the council on its pest problems at home page.

Are these prices with VAT?

The guide figures include VAT where the source says so. A sole trader below the VAT threshold may quote less for the same work. Check whether VAT is included before comparing two quotes.

Why does the plan show dates?

Because the timing matters as much as the price. A spray course only works if the second visit lands after the eggs have hatched and before the young bugs mature, which is why visits are spaced about two weeks apart.

Request a bed bug treatment

Three short steps. Detail about the home and the signs helps us choose the right specialist and helps them price it accurately.

What happens after you send the request
1We read the request and pick a bed bug specialist who covers your postcode and your type of property.
2We get in touch to tell you who that is, by name.
3Only if you say yes do they receive your details and contact you to arrange a visit.

This is a free introduction service, not a pest control firm. No firm rings you about it until you have accepted the one we put forward.
